Professional snowboarder Chloe Kim reportedly spends up to three hours on the slopes per day, making her intimately familiar with what cold weather can do to your skin. On top of being an 18-year-old Olympic gold medalist, Kim is a low-key skincare guru with plenty of tricks up her sleeve for tackling dryness overnight.
No, seriously. Kim relies on a $25 overnight face mask to soothe and quickly boost her skin’s hydration levels when she’s dealing with dry patches and other annoying issues caused by extreme weather conditions.
“Sometimes I get really bad wind burn and my face starts to peel, but I know that I can plop the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask on my face at night and my skin will be fine the next day,” she told InStyle. “It doesn’t matter if you have oily skin,” she warns. “A lot of people I know are like, ‘Oh, I have oily skin. I don’t really use moisturizer because I’ll break out.’ Yeah, that’s great, but just because you have oily skin doesn’t mean you can’t dry out. My sister has really oily skin, but she still starts peeling if she doesn’t moisturize, so just find what works best for you. There are so many things that work well out there with oily skin.”
